Most people start to think about their health after a severely ill condition. Some are paralyzed, some get cancer, or even dying and do not remember about anything. Here, the body does not become a paradise for the soul, instead it becomes a hell for the soul. Even though an old saying goes: “Health is not everything, but without health everything is nothing”. Learning from here, let us as early as possible care for our own body. Do not wait until the body to become seriously ill.
Borrowing the legacy of nuclear physicist David Bohm in his masterpiece entitled “Health and The Implicate Order”, the word health comes from the word whole. Thus, if you want to be close friends with your health, learn as early as possible to train yourself to live as a whole and holistic. That is, the body is not a separate creation with thoughts, feelings and spirit. The body is also not a separate entity from the surrounding environment. It invites us to be as early as possible to train ourself to build bridges of connection between the body with thoughts, feelings and spirit. Or between the body and the environment.
In simple but deep language, the path to healing is not about rejecting illness and other bad things, but about how to grow together in balance. Similar to a garden, all gardens have waste. But if it is smart, the waste can be processed into beautiful flowers. In the same way, all human bodies contain imperfections. But as long as it is sensitive to the signs that the body is conveying, bodily imperfections such as illness can become beautiful angels that will be a savior in later life.
A friend who has hepatitis B at a young age tells me that if he is saved by hepatitis B. Because he has hepatitis B, he doesn’t drink alcohol at all, always maintain his cholesterol levels. Deeper than that, he reads the spiritual message behind hepatitis B. In essence, if hepatitis B failed to be heal the person will get heart cancer. So this friend throughout his life developed and taught a beautiful heart. This is a concrete example of processing waste into beautiful flowers, processing disease into a beautiful angel.
In order to get there, reduce too much energy to make the body become all good and beautiful. Train yourself to always grow in the areas of balance. When you feel saturated in the room, take a walk in the open air. When you find adult environment feels too serious, occasionally play and sing with the children. If everything feels flat and tasteless, listen to your favorite music. Suppose you don’t find people who can be invited to have a sincere dialogue, write down your stressed feelings. After being calm, radiate the energy of acceptance into yourself. Be a sincere friend to yourself.
The next practical guide, in the West there are those who write about the human body like this: “Use it or lose it”. If the body is not moved, then a person can lose his/her own body. For this reason, it is strongly recommended to make a 5-minute movement every hour. It can be in the form of standing, walking, doing yoga movements, or looking for fresh air outdoors. Another thing worth considering, in our super busy era the most important condition for a healthy body is the quality of sleep. Previously we were asked to sleep between 6 to 8 hours a day, now the standard has been increased to 7 to 9 hours a day. For friends who are too busy so they cannot touch this standard, it is advisable to do a short sleep several times during the day. The duration is not important, the important thing is to experience the deep sleep feeling at least 5 minutes. It’s good to remember funny things before going to bed so that our sleep can be a healing journey of the soul. In meditation sessions often shared, the biggest source of energy leakages in this era is internal conflict. From excessive self-criticism, the battle between right-wrong, bad-good, to feelings that go up and down with grief and love. On the path of meditation, especially at the level of perfection not at the level of growth, the friends were asked to take “rest”. To be precise, take rest from all forms of conflict inside. For friends whose childhood and adolescence are active, learning to balance themselves with more passive nutrients such as fruit and vegetables.
