Compassion Spiritual Family News: Receiving Honored Guests from the United States (Part 3)

Written by Gede Prama

Kari Joys, a highly recognized psychotherapist and writer, together with her husband, recently visited the Ashram where Guruji lives. Their face and aura turned glowing after wearing Compassion Family shirts at the Ashram. This is not a story about changing one’s religion, because we never allow anyone to convert. This is a story about inviting people to evolve from an angry heart into a generous heart.

Knowing that Guruji is an empath (a sensitive and rich soul), whereas Guruji’s wife isn’t, and the fact that Guruji and his wife as a couple have grown together for almost 42 years, this famous psychotherapist asked in surprise: “You look so healthy, how do you heal yourself?” Kari Joys was particularly surprised to see this unique phenomenon, because sensitive people who grew together with insensitive people for decades are usually prone to chronic diseases. That is a common knowledge among psychologists.

When explained that the word ‘health’ comes from the word ‘whole’, Kari promptly nodded in admiration. In simple words, where someone takes a lot of pleasure, there he/she must pay with the same amount of sadness. In order to experience less sadness, remember to take as little pleasure as possible. That is the key. It is this holistic understanding that makes Kari and her husband more radiant after wearing Compassion Family shirts.

About the author

Gede Prama

Gede Prama started his spiritual journey through a dialogue with his symbolic Guru in a village at the north of Bali. The journey is then being enriched with his experiences of studying abroad, his meetings with the world greatest spiritual Gurus: His Holiness Dalai Lama, The Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh, as well as Professor Karen Armstrong; and also being deepened by his intense meditation practices.

Despite the fact that he was once a CEO of a large corporation with thousand of employees, and was traveling abroad frequently for the purpose of teaching, yet, being deeply moved by the Bali bombing incident in 2002, he then decided to leave everything and went back to his home island.
He has never leave Bali for the past few years. In fact, he rarely leaves the silence of the forest where he lives, except for the purpose of teaching at the sacred sites within Bali.
