Love letter to the power of darkness…

In one of beautiful evening, when I step down from my room in Ashram, a long and big snake waiting. Strangely, the head is chicken. As soon as I open my eyes after long meditation,  a cobra stay not far from the place I sit. The other day a snake fly in front of me in Ashram. In the early morning when I was ready to go to my place of meditation in the forest, a lady with long hair and her feet did not touch earth pass by in front of me. And many others strange things happen in my spiritual journey since young age. The good news, all of them never disturb me. Since they visited me quiet often, I asked them why. The answer of my secret teacher was beautiful: “Please tell the world, darkness is not here to threaten the light. Darkness is here to brighten the light”.

In other words, light owe to the darkness. That’s also the reason why I keep praying to three realms (lower, middle, higher) include hell and satan. Not because I worship satan. But because darkness bring countless benefits in this realms. Similar to meeting snake. Naturally, human body is not the food of snake. Meaning, snake is not a threat. However, if you hurt snake, it will bite back. The same thing happen with the power of darkness. Anyone who are full of hatred and then fight against darkness, the darkness will certainly fight back. The probability of winning is very small, especially because 80 % of energy in universe is the energy of darkness. The good news, if we approach them with the power of love, darkness will bow and pay repect.

In certain corner of my Ashram, many bad and threatening things happened many times. From being hit by huge truck, truck and car accident, till long and big cobra threaten the neighboor. Accompanied by the spirit of love, I put countless incenses there almost everyday, give them food in the form of alcohol. Plus prayer, may all beings be happy. After one year,  some funges in the form of love appear from mother earth. The cobra never appear in that corner, it’s replaced by the appearance of butterflies. The spiritual lesson is simple yet deep, darkness is not the enemy of light. It’s the ignorance of certain people that make darkness appear to be enemy. To equip fellow light seekers with knowledege of darkness, here are some of spiritual nutrition.

Darkness also bring positive benefits…

There are several positive aspects of darkness that deserve recognition, especially when considering its impact on the natural world, human psychology, and creativity. Firstly, darkness is essential for the natural environment. Many species are nocturnal and thrive in the absence of light. Predators like owls and bats rely on darkness to hunt, while numerous plants depend on the absence of light to initiate critical processes such as flowering. The natural cycle of day and night maintains ecological balance and ensures biodiversity.

From a psychological perspective, darkness offers a sense of calm and restfulness. The absence of visual stimuli can help the mind to relax and decompress. This is why many people find it easier to fall asleep in a dark room, as darkness triggers the production of melatonin, the hormone responsible for regulating sleep cycles. Proper rest is crucial for mental and physical health, making darkness an integral part of human well-being.

Darkness is part of the whole…

In addition, darkness fosters creativity and introspection. The lack of visual distractions allows individuals to turn inward, leading to deeper thought processes and self-reflection. Many writers, artists, and thinkers have found inspiration in the quiet and solitude that darkness provides. It offers a unique space for imagination to flourish, free from the constant bombardment of external stimuli.

Moreover, darkness can enhance sensory perception. When vision is limited, other senses such as hearing, smell, and touch become more acute. This heightened awareness can lead to a greater appreciation of one’s surroundings and a more profound connection to the environment.

In summary, darkness plays a vital role in various aspects of life. It supports ecological systems, promotes health and well-being, stimulates creativity, and enhances sensory experiences. Embracing the positive sides of darkness allows for a more balanced and holistic understanding of the world around us. Quoting from Dr. David Bohm in “Health and the implicate order”, the word health comes from the word whole. When we’re able to see life in a holistic way, then we can bring the energy of health to both the inner and outer world.
