The Most Beautiful Body Language

Written by Gede Prama

One of the most negative impacts of economic growth that is difficult to be tone down is the decline in trust between people. In Russia there are some parents who indoctrinate their children with messages like: “Never trust anyone, believe only in yourself”. That is why, here and there we can see empty and dry human eyes. Busy looking everywhere but end up found nothing. In today’s crowds, there are ocean of people that are easily flammable. One of the reason because people stared others with the eyes full of suspicion and hostility. Many people no longer believe in verbal language that comes out from others mouth.

For friends who are sensitive to body language, modern human body language is very rude. Only some people could realized, the rude body language is actually sharing violence both inside and out. Once the violence accumulates so much inside, there a person will become more vulnerable to many dangerous diseases. Including can be tempted by seduction to do suicide. For that reason, let’s learn a healthy and beautiful body language. Which can share coolness and healing both outward and inward. The first and foremost is start from the eye. The eye is not only the window of the soul, but also the window from which someone is sharing and absorbing energy.

To have a cool and beautiful eye, one need to always remind oneself again and again, that everyone who we encountered is carrying a fierce burden inside of him. From wrong fighting right, to Satan against God. From the gray past to the dubious future. Deep awareness of this will makes our energy of compassion rise inside. In the end, not only did the coolness radiate out through the eyes, but the eyes also absorbed the energy of coolness from the outside. In its deeper form, the energy of compassion is the most convincing bridge of connectedness. And connectedness is a bridge to healing and peace.

The second is body language, always stored in the deepest heart that humans are endowed with two ears and one mouth. That means, humans are advised to listen twice as much as speaking. Sadly, too many people nowadays are hearing others with the intention of giving comments, not actually listening to help their souls bloom. For example, once you hear that someone has told you that they have no children after being married for 5 years, there are some friends who immediately reply: “I have been married for 30 years and also have no children. And everything is fine”. This is a kind of listening for the cause of commenting. Hearing this type of comment neither it does not cure or soothing others.

Hearing that heals and soothes is actually simple, try to just simply listen. Without a bad framework, without any intention to correct the mistakes of others, without lust to show that the listening party is better than the one that being heard. It will be even cooler when during listening to others, the listener realizes deeply that the one being heard is overheating inside. The presence of the listener is like sprinkling the soothing tirtha (holy water). The third body language that participates in soothing and sharing healing energy is the position of the body when talking to other people.

So that the friends can share the sooth body language, learn to train the body (from the soles of the feet, knees, chest, face until the eyes) completely towards the person being invited to talk to. Turn off the gadget, reduce writing or be interrupted by other types of interruptions. Train yourself to be fully present to others. In the West there is an old phrase: “Your best present is your presence”. And your full presence for people is not only a beautiful gift for others, but also a wonderful gift for the soul inside. The soul will grow more mature and glowing. There is a lot of beautiful knowledge that will be obtained through being fully present to others.

The fourth body language is sound. Pauses between two words or two messages, never use sounds like “mmm, hhhh”. Some English-speaking friends often use the words “you know, so to speak”. Indonesian-speaking friends use the word “right?”. This pause filled with unnecessary voices or words, it is not only boring for the others, but also makes someone tell implicitly that the person is less intelligent inside. It shows that no confidence there. There is an internal battle that unconsciously being told to other people.

The fifth body language is the core of everything, train yourself to speak not with your head but with your heart. While the head along with its intelligence is full of complete separation walls of right and wrong, people who communicate with diligent heart and sincerity build beautiful bridges that connect one to the others. The person who communicates with the head easily slips on the narrow and shortsighted attitude that the person is right and the other person is wrong. This right and wrong wall then makes the relationship between the two sides very distant. False and wrong can be a conflict, and extend the long list of long-term violence.

Humans who communicate with the heart are not interested in the dividing wall and more interested in building beautiful bridges. Every time you interact with other people, the inner question it is not what is different between us and the other people, but always asks what is the same or the similarity between us. For example when we met other person who have different religious view with us. Try to see the beautiful things about other people’s religions, then talk about this beautiful thing together. As a concrete example, when meeting Muslim friends, for example, invite Muslim friends to tell the beautiful story of Jalalludin Rumi. Which tells us the story of the religion of the heart and the essence of religion.

When meeting Catholic friends, discuss the most beautiful poem of St. Francis of Assisi: “Lord, let me be your slave. Where there is fire, allow me to be a soothing tirtha. Where there is anger, let my presence here to represent the spirit of forgiveness … “. After seeing the sooth and friendly eyes of the other person, we may share a story like this: “We were guided by Guruji to often recite the mantram of Aham Prema. That means, I am love who is here to share love “. At the same time, that’s the most beautiful way to share beauty. While reminding ourself again and again, that on the island of love – Bali, the face of God that is most worshiped here is beauty. Not only carvings are made beautiful, even rice fields are also beautifully arranged here.
