The Old Home of Balance

Written by Gede Prama

The World Health Organization has long predicted that by 2020 mental illness will burden the world much more than physical pain. Such signs look very clear. There are often stories in meditation sessions, there are many young people who die before they can be illuminated. Many parents who should be taken good care of by the children, instead the old parents still take good care of their children because of mental illness. In almost every meditation session there was a request to be allowed to get divorced and convert religion. The wife clashes with the mother-in-law. Some even get ready to divorce with the second and the third husband/wife. It is sad of course.

To help spiritual friends to be healthy and happy, honestly a life which is completely free from problems does not exist. Even holy souls have to go through problems, as the cost of living here on earth. And spirituality is here on earth, to help friends to be able to process problems into beautiful flowers. To put it clearly, create beautiful flowers of peace. Suggestions that are often shared, are to live your daily life problems such as waves chasing the beach. Something which is very natural. Failure is like a small wave. Success is like a big wave. And both come and go.

If you do not want those waves do not make your life collapse, it is very important to remind yourself again and again, the important of the old home of soul is called balance. Like the balance of riding a bicycle which is dynamic, the balance as a home of soul is also dynamic. It moves from time to time. After the first world war in the 1940s, milk was the main food on the menu. Milk is perfect nutrition for tens of years. But nowadays, there is a long list of doctors who are against milk consumption. There are even doctors who wrote, milk is responsible for a number of diseases that cannot be explained.

This is only about dynamic balance in the physical body, not yet speaking of the mental and spiritual bodies. For practical purposes, it is important to reopen self-records since childhood. Borrowing the message of a holy book: “Self knowledge is the king of all knowledge”. The spiritual invitation then, is to try to open your life records since childhood. There is a lot of information stored there. In the West where most humans grow up in enclosed spaces, complete with the heaters, it has long been found a number of studies that conclude like this: “Spending time in the open nature reduces stress hormones in the brain, and increases immunity”.

This finding is honestly an invitation to return to the old home of balance. Because for thousands of years Westerners have been in a closed room in the house, in the office, in a car. For that reason there’s an invitation to grow in an open space. The same thing happen with friends whose backgrounds are unique. Friends whose childhood was very active – some like to ride motorbikes, love climbing mountains – it is advisable to consume more passive foods such as fruits and vegetables. These types of friends need this message: “Plants make you well-connected to the planet “. Plants can really help a person to be well-connected with the earth. Note the spelling plant which is very close to the spelling of planet.

Because the world moves so fast and dynamically, that’s the reason why there are wide invitations to become vegetarian here and there. The point is simple, the very dynamic energy of nature needs a balancing nutrition which is more passive. Especially because plants process energy in nature in a very passive way. When a combination of active and passive can be found in a more balanced way, there is the possibility of opening the door of healing, happiness and peace.

But some of the other friends childhoods tend to be passive. From loving to staying at home, being a housewife, rarely traveling, to being limited by norms and ethics. These kinds of souls need more active energy. While respecting the spiritual teachings that prioritize vegetarianism or ahimsa (not harming), this group of friends needs more animal nutrition. Especially because animals absorb energy in nature in a way that is much more active than plants. Again the point to be addressed is called balance.

The same thing happens with humans who are very addicted to sugar. The truth is, someone’s bitter past makes a longing for sweetness. The lack of the past makes the body cause longing for overeating. If the first one is picked up by diabetes, the second is picked up by obesity (overweight). Both are deadly. Both are sharing secrets, you may leave a bitter taste, or a sense of deprivation, but always remember what is intended is the point of balance. And the balance is in the middle region.

The same thing happens with humans who are very hungry for recognition, very thirsty for praise. If you don’t equip yourself with a balance compass, then this type of human will be picked up by a dangerous disease. The spiritual invitation to these types of friends, from the beginning is to learn to be sensitive to the signs in the body. As the vibration of the old holy books decreases significantly, it is time to learn to read the holy book within. It means reading messages that appear from within. For the purpose of recovery, quantity and quality of sleep, smooth or no defects, immunity, emotional stability, often not feeling tired and restless, are some things that deserve to be observed daily.

For the purpose of peace, what and who often approaches someone for a long time, should be observed. If you are approached by birds, develop joy. Friends who like flowers, practice to grow in beauty. Young women who like quiet men, souls long for silence. Young men who like women with glazed eyes, souls miss tenderness. Men who grow old but still have high sexual energy, the soul longs for unity. Old women who are restless staying at home, occasionally learn to visit grandchildren. Repeating the previous message, remember always the point being addressed is an old home called balance. As a guideline for measuring the quality of peace, contemplate this message deeply: “When a lot of things look wrong, it is the sign that the soul is still burning. When what looks wrong is a way of seeing, the soul starts learning. Whenever nothing seems wrong, everything is perfect as it is, it’s a sign the soul is blooming “.
