Meditation is not only sitting. Any movements of life – include walking – can become meditation, as long as there’s mindfulness there.
Since intention determines direction, it’s very importan to whisper to yourself like this before meditation: “For the sake of perfecting the quality of my love…”.
In case of walking meditation, it’s recommended to do it in quite place where the environment give birth to countless gratitudes.
Walk slower than daily normal steps. There are some approaches which are available. Move feet as slow as possible, whisper to yourself: “Lift, move, put it back”.
That mantra is like anchor which connecting mind to the beauty of present moment. Another approach, whenever you move feet, simply recognize that you’re moving your feet.
The following approach, contemplate deeply the impermanence nature of everything. Exactly the same as the movement of feet.
As the right step appear, the left step disappear. The same thing happen to sad-glad, foe-friend, pain-pleasure, sorrow-joy, failure-success.
As soon as you embody the impermanence nature of everything, the rigid dualistic mind no longer grip you. The mind begin to flow.
As a result, you’ll experience less energy drain which comes from the negative and critical mind. It opens the gate of healing and peace as well.
The simplest and the deepest approach of walking meditation is feeling the gap. Feel the gap between two movements of your feet.
If there are sounds, feel the gap between two sounds. If some memories visit you, feel the gap between two memories. Gap is a very powerful medicine.
It’s like space that makes everything disappear. Pain, bad memory, discomfort, bad mood are all disapeaar in the gap. It left nothing except the energy of healing and peace.
May all beings are happy. May all beings are happy. May all beings are happy. May all beings are happy. May all beings are happy.
