A Holy Place that never Disappointing

Almost all seekers of Light started their journey in a holy place. This idea is not wrong of course. But every deep soul goes through a similar experience.

After a while the holy place outside is not as attractive as when we started it. It can be guided by feelings, or it can also be guided by unfortunate events of life.

In the story of the Compassion family, we were kicked out of the monastery, yelled at by the pecalang (village security guard) at the temple. It was the appearance of the symbolical Guru.

It’s not because the holy place outside isn’t positive, once again it’s not! But because once the soul grows up, or even enlightens, the holy place is no longer outside.

In Tantra there is an old message, where one hears Om’s voice, where the secret is hidden. As told before, the voice of OM shows itself to Guruji in Pura Dalem (Inner Temple)

Followed by Light encircling Guruji’s body, also in the same place.
On the first night while studying in the Himalayas in 2008 there was even a hand pointing to the solar plexus.

The message is bright and clear: “Invite mankind to find the Light within”. Again, it is available inside!

In the language of the famous psychologist Carl G. Jung: “Those who seek outside, dream, those who find it inside, awake.” He who seeks happiness outside will be disappointed.

Those who find it inside are enlightened. The sign is simple, love is no longer a holy book commandment. It becomes something natural.

As natural as water which is wet, as natural as a flower which is beautiful. Not only do daily movements become happy because of practicing love, but in every breath there is love.

Breath becomes like a violin. Always chanting beautiful prayers. One of the people who has reached here is Saraha: “Ultimately, my body is my holy temple”.

Happy galungan day. May all friends be in good health and ultimate happiness.

About the author

H.H. Guruji Gede Prama

Gede Prama started his spiritual journey through a dialogue with his symbolic Guru in a village at the north of Bali. The journey is then being enriched with his experiences of studying abroad, his meetings with the world greatest spiritual Gurus: His Holiness Dalai Lama, The Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh, as well as Professor Karen Armstrong; and also being deepened by his intense meditation practices.

Despite the fact that he was once a CEO of a large corporation with thousand of employees, and was traveling abroad frequently for the purpose of teaching, yet, being deeply moved by the Bali bombing incident in 2002, he then decided to leave everything and went back to his home island.
He has never leave Bali for the past few years. In fact, he rarely leaves the silence of the forest where he lives, except for the purpose of teaching at the sacred sites within Bali.
