Compassion

Chanting Om Mani Padma Hum…

“Darkness is not born here to attack us, but it is the nature’s way to invite the birth of a bright light.”

What is unique in this Compassion Day 2022 is reciting the Om Mani Padma Hum mantra on 5 continents 3 x 24 hours.  From 28/2, 1/3 and 2/3.  From 06 am on 28/2 to 06 am on 3/3.  Bali time of course.

This is a message for close friends in reciting mantras.  First, it shares a beautiful message to all sentient beings: “The secret is in the lotus flower”.

Nature is indeed full of mud of suffering.  The good news is that the mud of suffering can be turned into a beautiful lotus of enlightenment.  Meditation is one way.

Second, this mantra closes the door to rebirth in the realm of samsara.  Om closes the door to birth in the divine realm, ma in the demigod realm, ni human realm.

Pad in the animal realm.  Ma in the demon realm.  Hum in hell realm.  Of course this shall happen if someone embodied himself with the beautiful chanting.  And recite it with a  very sincere heart.

The power of the chanting would be much greater if it was performed by a large number of people.  At the same time.  Even in 5 continents in the world.

Third, in the middle of this mantra there is the word “Mani”, it comes from Chintamani.  That is, the gem that grants all wishes.

Not coincidentally, the name of the sub-district in Bali, where Mount Batur is beautifully embraced by Lake Batur, where there is Pura Jati (true home) is Kintamani.

May all beings be happy.

The video was taken by Ashram’s head of household affairs, Kadek Optimistic, assisted by Jero Mangku Putera Kubayan.  When the video was taken, in the midst of clear weather suddenly a white cloud approached.

Note: There are 4 points of chanting.  Inside the Ashram, at the Ashram gate for friends who are willing to come, on Zoom, and at their respective homes (places).

For those who are interested in joining Zoom, for friends in Bali please contact Bli Koming, outside Bali contact Mr. Sudharmin or Anton.

About the author

H.H. Guruji Gede Prama

Gede Prama started his spiritual journey through a dialogue with his symbolic Guru in a village at the north of Bali. The journey is then being enriched with his experiences of studying abroad, his meetings with the world greatest spiritual Gurus: His Holiness Dalai Lama, The Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh, as well as Professor Karen Armstrong; and also being deepened by his intense meditation practices.

Despite the fact that he was once a CEO of a large corporation with thousand of employees, and was traveling abroad frequently for the purpose of teaching, yet, being deeply moved by the Bali bombing incident in 2002, he then decided to leave everything and went back to his home island.
He has never leave Bali for the past few years. In fact, he rarely leaves the silence of the forest where he lives, except for the purpose of teaching at the sacred sites within Bali.
