In one of beautiful evening a strange snake came to Ashram where I live, the body is long snake, but the head is chicken.
The other day, a snake fly from penunggun karang (the home of local spirit). When I did walking meditation a big but short snake came closer to my feet.
Since they visited me quiet often, I asked them why. Their answer was amazing: “Please tell the world that the devil and the divine are in harmony in Bali”.
I asked them back, what make the dirty and the holy are in harmony in Bali. Again, the answer make me deeply respect Balinese elders: “The collective human mind for thousand years”.
That’s very true. Look at the Balinese ritual for thousand years, there’s butha yadnya (love to the lower realms), manusa yadnya (love to the middle realms), dewa yadnya (love to higher realms).
Without using the terminology of higher-lower, better-worse, while in most places people hate lower realms like satan and hell, in Bali they are subject of love.
Only because there’s darkness, we can see the light. Only because there’s lower realms like satan and hell we can perfect our love.
In the language of modern science, light appear not by removing the negative, but by synthesizing negative-positive. Electricity light is the concrete example in this case.
Under this light of understanding, train the mind not to hate the negative and attach the positive. Remember, sadness is here not to steal happiness but to deepen happiness. Like mud and lotus, sadness and happiness are inseparable.
As a result, there will be less war inside which produce less war outside. On the contrary, there will be more harmony inside which make you create more harmony outside.
Just in case we are blessed to share this deep and peaceful spirit to the incoming world leaders who will meet in Bali, no single doubt, we will make earth much more harmony.
That’s why the tittle of my presentation will be “From Bali to the world harmony”. May all beings are happy. May all beings are happy.
