True Soul Mate

When a teacher was asked about the main sign of soul who has been home already, the teacher gently replied: “he/she is no longer interested in pursuing outside”.

When a teacher was asked about the main sign of soul who has been home already, the teacher gently replied: “he/she is no longer interested in pursuing outside”.

Bottomless Well

For most people, there is always a feeling of being incomplete. Do not talk about the sick and the poor, even the rich and the healthy also have the feeling of being incomplete. That is why human being spent most of their age looking for something outside. And among many things that people seek, the most consuming energy is searching for soul mate. Wealth, power, fame are all addressed to obtain recognition from soul mate.

Almost all commoners only stop their search for soul mate after being attacked by illness. Some even stopped by death. Borrowing a message from Tibetan holy book: “If you can not find what you seek in this life, then you will not find it after death”. As a result, the journey of soul is like digging bottomless well. Dig, dig, dig, and along the journey is full of darkness. There is no sign of light.

The journey of some friends even very dark, few of them inhabit mental hospital, imprisoned in the prison, attacked by hiv/ aids, drugs addiction. Inspired by this story, it is worth to contemplate life that keep seeking and searching and finally get tired, sick and become the burden of the others.

Beautiful Lake of Contentment

The direct result of life that endlessly searching is energy deficit. This is the source of many stress and illness. For that reason, there is no other choice if you want to be healed and attain peace, learn to stop this restless searching. One of the energy within that can stop this searching is a sense of inner contentment. How poor you are, how simple your life is, with inner contentment you will feel rich inside.

Frogs are symbol of suffering being. Frogs keep jumping here and there, they never find where the honey is. Butterflies are symbol of wonderful creatures who find the honey. Without jumping here and there, butterflies directly fly to the center of flowers. And there they find the real honey.

Life is similar to circling circle. Night-day, failure-success, tragedy-comedy are all circling. On the periphery, life is shaking (down-up, blamed-praised, bad mood-good mood). But at the center, there is no shaking, there is only silence and peace. This is the honey of life. And inner contentment is the inner energy which guide one to the center of the circle. The most beautiful part of the journey to the center, at the center life is like beautiful lake of contentment. It is calm and beautiful.

Flowers of Love

Similar to trees which transform the poison of carbon dioxide into much-needed oxygen in silent, beautiful souls who live in the beautiful lake of contentment seems to be silent. But in the depths of the deep, he/she is processing the materials of life into the flowers of love. The past is full of lessons, the future is full of opportunity to serve, the present is the only time where all materials of life are processed into beautiful flower of love. That is why meditation focus on being presence in the present. From this womb of the present, then baby of service was born.

Service is like the most beautiful garden to the beautiful souls. Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Thich Nhat Hanh are all grow beautifully in the garden of service. A touching spiritual friend even very explicit in this regard: “When you plant the seed of love, the one who blooms is you”. In the life of commoners, service is an obligation. It is threatened by hell and guilty feeling. But in the life of beautiful soul, service is like garden to butterflies.

One who spends long time enough in the garden of service will understand, flowers are not only blooming out there, flowers also bloom here inside. It is the flowers of love. It is the most beautiful flower that ever bloom. From that moment, soul is no longer interested in searching for soul mate. Mainly because love is the true soul mate. As honey which is naturally sweet, when you are love inside you will be naturally loved.

Rewriting Human History from Bali:
A Living Story of How an Island of Tragedy Blossomed into a Global Fountain of Harmony

Sometimes history is written in books.
Sometimes it is written quietly in the courage of human hearts.

In Bali, the transformation from tragedy to harmony is not merely an idea preserved in ancient scriptures. It is a lived realityβ€”something that has unfolded, step by step, in our own time.

One of the subtle threads guiding this journey may be understood through what is often described as global synchronicity.

The devastating terrorist attack of 9/11/2001 in the United States shook the world with waves of violence and fear.

The following year, tragedy struck again on 10/12/2002 in Bali.

The sequence of date, month, and year appears as if gently moving forward by one. For some, this is coincidence. For others, it is the whisper of the One, it may be read as a quiet reminder from the deeper intelligence of lifeβ€”that humanity is repeatedly invited to choose how it responds to suffering: "Whether to extend cycles of violence, or to transform tragedy into seed of harmony".

Over time, Bali gradually chose the second path.

From an island once marked by tragedy, Bali evolved into a global space of dialogue, hospitality, and cultural harmony. International gatherings and global summits later took place here, including the G20 Bali Summit 2022β€”a reflection of the island’s role as a meeting point for the world.

Within this wider transformation, many individuals quietly dedicated their lives to healing the invisible wounds left by tragedy.

One of them is Guruji Gede Prama.

Guruji Gede Prama
Indonesian Peace Servant, Author, Former Corporate Executive and Consultant

I. Early Life, Education, and Formation

Guruji Gede Prama was born in Bali, Indonesia. From adolescence, he demonstrated strong literary and intellectual inclinations, contributing articles to national publications and gradually shaping a reflective voice on life, leadership, and human values.

After completing his undergraduate degree at Udayana University in Bali and an MBA degree from Prasetiya Mulya University Jakarta, he received a scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies in Lancaster, United Kingdom. In 1993, he attended executive top management studies at INSEAD in France.

These academic exposures broadened his understanding of leadership beyond technical managementβ€”toward responsibility for human dignity and social wellbeing.

By his thirties, he had achieved what many aspire to:
β€’ A successful CEO of two major corporations
β€’ A widely published author
β€’ A nationally recognised leadership consultant

He was featured in major Indonesian media outlets including Kompas, Tempo, Media Indonesia, Metro TV, ANTV, Bali TV, Swasembada, Warta Ekonomi, Infobank, Bali Post, Nusa, and others.

II. Corporate Formation and Ethical Influence

After graduating from university, Guruji began his career at Matsushita Electric in Jakarta.
There he encountered the philosophy of founder Konosuke Matsushita, who emphasised that the essence of enterprise lies in the formation of human character. His guiding principleβ€”β€œBefore making a product, make a person”—deeply shaped the young Guruji.

By the age of 39, he had achieved professional stability, financial security, and public recognition.
Yet life quietly invited him toward a different path.

III. Literary Journey and Inner Transformation

Along the long pilgrimage of his inner life, Guruji was guided not only by the wisdom of thousands of books, nor only by the hidden teachers that appeared in moments of difficulty and uncertainty.

Life itself slowly opened sacred doors.

Among these were gentle encounters with some of the luminous spiritual voices of our ageβ€”His Holiness the Dalai Lama in the quiet hills of Dharamsala in 2008, the serene presence of Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh in Jakarta, and a personal conversation with Professor Karen Armstrong in Jakarta.

These meetings were not merely exchanges of words, but moments that felt quietly inscribed by destinyβ€”brief openings where compassion, silence, and understanding touched the heart.

Since the 1990s, Guruji has authored more than one hundred books through major Indonesian publishers including Gramedia, Elex Media, Karaniya, and Paramita.

At first he wrote books.
Over time, the books reshaped his life.

Writing became a path inwardβ€”a practice of listening to the deeper silence within.

When the 2002 Bali bombings occurred, he made a decisive transition: "Leaving the light of success of corporate life in Jakarta to serve a deeply dark wounded community in Bali".

Since 2002, his teachingsβ€”both offline and onlineβ€”are estimated to have reached millions of individuals seeking healing and harmony.

IV. Prison Service

For approximately seven consecutive years, Guruji conducted regular teaching and counselling sessions across prisons in Bali’s eight districts and some other places in Indonesia.

Estimated outreach:

β€’ More than 7,000 inmates in Bali
β€’ Approximately 1,000 additional inmates in Bandung and Tangerang

His work included engagement with individuals convicted of terrorism-related offences.

This service was formally acknowledged in a nomination letter written by the Indonesian Minister of Law in support of his 2026 Nobel Peace Prize nomination.

V. Interfaith Reconciliation

Guruji’s work extended across diverse religious communities in Bali and Indonesia.

He delivered reconciliation dialogues in:

β€’ Muslim majlis taqlim gatherings
β€’ Christian and Chatolic churches
β€’ Buddhist temples
β€’ Hindu temples

This contribution to interfaith trust-building was recognised in a nomination letter from the Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs in 2026. In support of his 2026 Nobel Peace Prize nomination.

VI. Ecological Stewardship

Understanding the deep connection between healing people and healing nature, Guruji personally bought and financed the preservation of approximately 9 hectares of forest and sacred temple land in North Bali.

These lands protect biodiversity while preserving spiritual landscapes that have long nourished Balinese culture.

Through this quiet commitment, Guruji demonstrates that peace is not only a matter of human relationships, but also of harmony between humanity and the living earth.

This contribution received a meaningful affirmation when the Indonesian Minister of Environment wrote a special nomination letter in 2025, recognising his ecological stewardship and nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize, affirming that caring for the earth is inseparable from cultivating lasting peace for humanity.

VII. Educational and Civic Engagement

Guruji has delivered talks, counselling sessions, and leadership programmes in collaboration with universities, senior high schools, kindergartens, government institutions, correctional facilities, and religious communities across Bali and beyond.

These engagements aim to cultivate emotional maturity, ethical awareness, and peaceful coexistence across generations.

VIII. Institutional Support (2026)

As of January 2026, more than 300 ministers, rectors, deans, directors, and professors from Indonesia and several other countries have submitted nomination letters supporting Guruji Gede Prama for consideration for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Among the nominators are distinguished leaders, including:

β€’ Chairman of the Honorary Council of the Indonesian Constitutional Court
β€’ Indonesian Minister of Law
β€’ Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs
β€’ Indonesian Minister of Environment

Academic leadership also forms a major part of this support:

β€’ Rectors from major universities across Bali, Java, Papua, Sumatera, and other regions of Indonesia
β€’ Professors and academic leaders from Indonesia, India, Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and beyond

Together, these voices reflect broad recognition across legal, governmental, and academic communities of Guruji’s long-term contribution to healing, reconciliation, and harmony.

IX. The Trophy That Never Lies

Many stories of success end with declining health or fractured families.

Guruji’s life offers a different narrative.

At age 63, he has never undergone major surgery, remains married to the same spouse for more than 43 years, and is blessed with three children and five grandchildren.

Beyond his biological family, he is supported by a second familyβ€”a spiritual community rooted in compassion and service, including individuals who have transformed their lives after experiences of hardship, addiction, or imprisonment.

Conclusion:
From Darkness of tragedy into Global Fountain of Harmony

In 2002, Guruji left the visible light of success as a CEO, author, and consultant in Jakarta.

He chosed instead to step into the darkness uncertainty of Bali’s tragedy.

For more than two decades, he has walked quietly beside those who sufferβ€”prisoners, seekers, broken families, and communities learning again how to trust.

Today, Bali stands not only as a place of beauty, but as a living reminder that tragedy can be transformed into a global garden of harmony.

Within this transformation, Guruji Gede Prama has played a humble yet meaningful roleβ€”helping to nurture the journey from suffering toward ultimate healing.

A quiet contribution, perhaps, to the long and unfinished work of rewriting human history from Bali.
